Are you lucky enough?

I have been meaning to explore this thought of mine for quite sometime. Finally, my friend mentioned the same thing which I have been pondering for quite sometime and this made me post it.

I have been stuck on this problem(software bug) at work like forever(2 months). It's really painful to get stuck and not go anywhere. It was very critical that it was to be solved and there was tremondous pressure on me.Not wanting to give up, more out of ego and less to do with conviction, I pushed on, constantly trying out different methods to solve it.Things seemed to get better before getting worse and it was utterly disappointing.I was completely exhausted and fatigued and showing signs of PTSD(to some extent).I finally got a lucky break and fixed it(I wouldn't be here posting if I hadn't!!)

My friend said something, which I suspect, I had known for long: It's hard work that brings luck.Well in my case, I had to get hopeless and miserable before striking luck.
All along this has been my experience whenever I find myself in similar situations (work or otherwise).Never been lucky in the true sense.

I want to know if others had similar experiences?

OR

Were you lucky enough to be lucky?

Luck, what's that? Hard work I can relate to, but arriving at a store just in time for a big sale, never happens. I got the job of my dreams and was totally disabled 5 months later; wow, what luck! So now I'm thinking maybe I should ponder: "Fate".
Good luck with yours!

For certain, the only type of true luck that exists is generated by our own efforts. We create our own luck. Noses to the grindstone and creative thinking are the key. I'm totally in support of that. I do harbour a secret belief though that in making choices that benefit those around us we generate good karma and that brings us luck as well... but that's my secret flaky side shhhh don't tell anyone :-)

On another topic, I saw you lost the "de" in pressing thoughts. You are no longer depressed?

hi Emerging,
I don't want to be.I wanted to remove any negative concoction of the name de-pressing.

Frankly, the name was becoming depressing!

I agree with your friend, being lucky is often the result of hard work and just when we are about to give in or give up we relax enough to allow the "luck" to happen. We are creators, we create our luck or our misery with our thoughts and actions.
